About Resume

How I Created My Resume

Creating my resume was a thoughtful process aimed at effectively showcasing my qualifications and experiences for a video designer position. Here’s how I went about it:

Understanding the Audience

I started by identifying the primary audience—potential employers in the video design and animation industry. Knowing that they value technical skills, creativity, and relevant experience, I tailored my resume to highlight these aspects.

Structuring the Resume

I chose a clear and professional format, ensuring it was easy to read. The main sections included:

  1. Contact Information: Placed at the top with my name, phone number, and email.
  2. Education: Listed my degrees, institutions, locations, and key coursework.
  3. Experience: Detailed my internships and project work.
  4. Skills: Highlighted my proficiency in relevant software.
  5. Certifications: Mentioned my language qualifications.
  6. Self-Evaluation: Summarized my personal and professional attributes.

Highlighting Education

I included my Master’s degree from the University of the Arts London and my Bachelor’s degree from Guangdong University of Technology. Each entry detailed my major, location, duration, and key courses, demonstrating my academic foundation in animation.

Detailing Professional Experience

The professional experience section is crucial. I described my roles in various projects and internships:

  • Visual Design Intern at Shenzhen Naxin Technology Co., Ltd.: Focused on designing sales materials and editing promotional videos.
  • Animation Production for London Animation Festival: Covered my responsibilities in post-production, editing, and sound design.
  • Director and Animator for a School Innovation Competition: Showcased my full-spectrum production skills, from scriptwriting to post-production.
  • Public Welfare Film “Protection or Cage”: Highlighted my scriptwriting, shooting, and editing work.

Each role was detailed with specific tasks and outcomes, illustrating my skills and achievements.

Emphasizing Skills

I listed my proficiency in software like Premiere Pro, After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. This section aligns with the technical requirements of the job.

Including Certifications and Self-Evaluation

I mentioned my IELTS and university-level English proficiency. The self-evaluation section briefly highlighted my passion for animation, strong theoretical and practical foundation, and personal qualities like strong communication skills, eagerness to learn, and resilience.

Refining and Reviewing

I reviewed my resume multiple times for clarity and conciseness, seeking feedback from mentors and peers to ensure it was polished and professional.

Conclusion

Creating my resume involved careful structuring and detailed presentation of my education, experience, and skills. This process helped me clearly communicate my qualifications and readiness for a career in video design and animation.
