Body acting- Recorded

For this body acting assignment, our teacher asked us to choose a classmate’s character design and create a corresponding action for it. During the process of selecting a character, I was able to carefully observe each classmate’s design, which I found to be very interesting. After careful consideration, I chose Fai’s character design. In fact, when we first submitted our character design assignments, Fai’s character left a deep impression on me. Firstly, her character design incorporated elements from her hometown of Thailand, which made it stand out from the others. Additionally, I really liked her art style, color choices, and other details, so I immediately chose her character.

Fai’s character design is just amazing, I absolutely love it!

My action design involved an anxious wait for the bus, gradually becoming impatient until the bus finally arrived. The character would then wave excitedly at the bus.

Actually, I initially had a desire to add more backstory to my character, such as having him hold a bouquet of flowers and being late for a date or running late to school with a backpack, but eventually decided not to because the workload increased. During the process of designing the action, I encountered some difficulties, such as bending over. Prior to this, I had a preference for drawing characters from the front or in profile, but these angles didn’t convey the action well. Therefore, I changed the angle slightly to show a more oblique view, which made it much simpler to draw and had a better effect overall.

The animation process went very smoothly for me, possibly because I was drawing a character that I really liked and enjoyed working with. I found the experience very fulfilling and enjoyable!
